A Down-ward trend
A.2. I do have to mention here, I don’t feel-good with the latest developments lacking in feature in my own perspective with launch of new models of cameras at the shows mentioned earlier. I would remark them as a downward trend. For an example The incident of a SLR camera introduced by an electronic Giant at a flash sync of 1/60th of a second, then there was another of a traditional camera maker who has actually taking one step backward with the launch of 1/200h’s.sync where the same Camera model launched earlier in the market had a sync of 1/500th. sec.
A.3. Do Remember the TLR cameras of ‘Rolleifiex’ days had a sync of 1/500th in the pre-era of 1970’s, thanks to leaf shutter (before the advent of focal plane shutter). Is this a progressive or a regressive trend?
A.4. OR is it a premonition of a bleak future, where we are going to have frequent frost-bite, because of less and less sun-light could be able to penetrate the Atmospheric pollution, we generate now at a fast pace, (contrary to climatic heat-up cautioned by the environmental scientist). Probably the Japanese are cautioned a little too earlier, where most of the cameras have their origin from. So would you agree with me not much of a real development has occurred in the SLR arena specific to shutter mechanism as they are advertised in professional models.
A.5. But in the case of prosumer Camera for eg: Fujipix -9500 and the later ones, I have managed with a big struggle to locate from internet that they have a facility of a high sync at 1/1000th.sec called forced flash. It was literally a struggle because the specs are deep buried----read later at topic titled indecent-photography how non of the magazines has detailed or in a camera user-Manuel or an exploration through the maze of published materials in the Internet where you would only get clogged with, but hardly you get any help. Try your self typing in the best possibly key words in GOOGLE SEARCH ,hence I humbly request the camera manufacturers to publish those relevant details.
These hints on ‘sync’ were gathered from a magazine called ‘Smart Photography’, with a reliability but occasionally that too for their Reviews on Camera models.
But you can see how a photographer of 3X factor informed than an average One is easily susceptible to ill-information or mis-interpretation by the above magazine in their APRIL2007 issue. I was fooled to the extend as the above mentioned downward trend mention above is incorrect with regard to flash sync. I could have easily remove this page before you could have noticed that is a shame unto me.
Contrarily Then what is true: By reference I have provided in particular to April issue You could easily guess it is Nikon D40 & D 40X is indicated . The Fact is both the camera has a sync speed of 1/500th.sec. (Their cover page of the mag: says “world exclusive NIKON D40X” probably their review in pg :17, pg:117 is an expression to that effect). The other is SONY Alpha100 model, printed in the magazine the camera sync at 1/60th.sec but actually it is 1/160th.sec. (ref page :113) In India we are used to excuses such as Human or typo- error.
But I would have a procedure of reporting about their mistakes they have been committing (both technically and to the theory of photography) in a Blog- Site. The victims who happens to be reading of those false information are alerted
through my regular personal-feeds ...I mean a regular posting to your E-mail ID’s), For implement some secure procedure, you should comply with providing proper address. But presently I only deal with the mail ID’s I already have, or only with the ones of trusted & I choose at random I may come across .
Blog site is logically titled as ‘Indecent Photography’
A.6. Naturally such a prosumer camera would become a camera of choice as they favors my technique. But the SLR models have a different solution called AutoFP mode associated with more costlier solution.
So why here the Doctrine of Fast sync is more stressed ?
A.7. Because my technique on many occasion is governed by high-speed sync and multi-exposure...I have been writing about these for a long time. Therefore specs I wrote very earlier with respect to multi exposure in a Film based camera may some times be irrelevant in the light of Digital-models. Because many of the digital cameras are provided with multi-exposure mode if not for it otherwise we are all the same as we were been before, disregarding all those strides we have had made in the other areas now in Digital .
A.8. To get to know about Flash -Selection give a head start under topics of Casual -Photo in the home page
